Description
Osman Martins and Pierre Gillet demonstrate that Brazilian music reaches far beyond the beloved forms known by casual listeners. Theirs is a deeper, more exploratory take on the music aided in part by their absolute mastery of two unique Brazilian instruments. Osman plays the cavaquinho, the ukelele-like 4-stringed instrument that Brazilians can wring a wealth of variety from. And Pierre provides the adept accompaniment on 7-stringed guitar. Together their compositions and arrangements plump native rhythms and possibilities with taste, dazzle and harmonic sophistication. Add to it the percussion overdubbed by Osman in the studio and here is presented a rich tapestry of Brazilian music.
