Where are we now?
Joe Higham's 'Al Orkesta' evolved from his interest in various folk forms found in English, Arabic, Turkish and Jewish music and is also influenced by the many prog-rock-oriented groups from the 70s. Joe Higham strives to retain and present core ingredients from the original source music - rhythm, melody, tempo, mood and ambience to produce a series of 'off centre' musically interesting pieces that provide creative space for the soloists.
